Wills
A Will is a legal document that sets out what you want to happen after you die. It can appoint guardians for your children, provide for pets and personal belongings, and help protect your family by ensuring your wishes are clear.
If you don’t have a Will—or if your Will is out of date—your estate may be dealt with under the rules of intestacy, and the outcome may not reflect what you would have chosen. This can add time, cost and pressure for the people you leave behind during an already difficult period.
For more information, or to update your Will, please contact us on 07 949 7879 (ext 1) or email reception@foundationlegal.co.nz.
Enduring Power of Attorney
An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA) appoints someone you trust—usually a family member or close friend—to act for you if you become unable to make decisions for yourself. You can put an EPOA in place for property matters and a separate EPOA for personal care and welfare.
EPOAs help protect you and your family by ensuring your wellbeing and finances can be managed by the people you choose, in the way you would want.
Everyone—no matter their age—should have EPOAs in place. They must be signed while you are mentally capable, so it’s best to get them sorted early. To talk through what you need, call 07 949 7879 (ext 1) or email reception@foundationlegal.co.nz.
